Expected timing for key Scarsdale Youth Basketball events this summer/fall:

Tryout Timeline:

• Early/Mid-August: Tryout registration opens
• Late August: Tryout dates/times finalized. See the tryout schedule
• Mid-September through early October: SYB tryouts for all grades (5th - 8th)

Additional Details:

• There is no cost for tryouts. Players must attend and participate in all sessions for their team. Final team selection will be based on a combination of tryout results and prior season SYB performance, where applicable.
• Each team will have 2-3 tryouts, 75-90 minutes in length.
• The number of sessions is based on number of participants. We've currently scheduled three tryouts for each team. 
• If we host three sessions for a team, there may be a cut before the final session if the evaluators determine it is necessary for their process
• Each tryout will be run by multiple independent evaluators consisting of present and former AAU basketball coaches, high school coaches, referees, and trainers. SYB board members handle logistics at tryout locations to ensure an orderly sign-in process. With the exception of these facilitators, parents are not permitted at the tryouts.
• All evaluators are provided with tryout guidelines and follow standardized protocols to ensure fairness. 
• SYB team selections are typically communicated within ~48 hours of the final tryout
